On April 17, the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics held a community event to make sense of the state of health care amidst a political and social divide on the issues of Medicaid reform, the role of states and the private sector, and areas of opportunity for bipartisan health care reform.

Former Governor of Florida and Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush joined Penn Law professor Allison Hoffman, an expert on health care law and policy, for a “fireside chat” titled “Health Policy and Politics in Turbulent Times.” Bush was named a non-resident Presidential Professor of Practice at the Andrea Mitchell Center for the Study of Democracy for the 2018-19 academic year, serving on panels like the recent Silfen Forum, joining discussions on the opioid crisis and health care reform.
